A Spectacular Night of Musical Delights in Weyhill as Pete Shaw Took The Stage

Yet another great evening of music in Weyhill – namely the June concert promoted by  WEOS – and despite the warm temperature, the audience remained engrossed throughout with the entertainment provided by the versatile and extremely talented guest artiste PETE SHAW, from Winsford in Cheshire.

Pete had his all-round musical talents put to great use several years ago when he worked as Musical Director for Granada Television’s ‘Tour of Talent’ roadshow, following which he received an invitation to play for a choir at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in Bala.

The range of songs and tunes performed was extensive and the variety of sounds produced by Pete’s instrument were little short of amazing.  The first half contained the music of Status Quo, Frank Sinatra, Michel Legrand and Roy Orbison, whilst after the interval the variation included songs from shows and music associated with Barry Manilow, The Drifters, ELO and Ed Sheeran.

Newcomers said how much they had enjoyed the evening and vowed to return – but making the initial effort to sample the entertainment appears to be the key.  The concert proved to be an ideal way to mark completion of the Club’s 21st year of providing the community with melodic, easy listening music.

The next concert is on Thursday 20 July at the Fairground Hall.  More information, including comprehensive reports of recent concerts, can be found on the Club website, www’
