The VIP Business Awards, organised by My VIP Card and held Friday 4th October 2019 at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton. My VIP Card encourages people to #Shoplocal and support their high street, there were 16 awards up for grabs.
The VIP Awards in its first year was created by Maddy Alexander-Grout founder of My VIP Card to help celebrate Hampshire businesses and to help bring the community together to champion small businesses. Judged by a panel of well-established Hampshire business owners after 3000 votes were cast to narrow down to the top 5.
Amongst the winners were three Andover companies, Loulou’s Lovely Letters,Wet Banana and Trainmaster.
Loulous Lovely letters, won the Happy Home Award, Ginette is a word-loving stay at home mum to a little boy, and the designer and maker behind Loulou’s Lovely Letters.She designs and makes gorgeous printed goods from her home in Hampshire.
Wet Banana, won the eco warrior award, They offer organic and fairtrade textiles with a bold and cynical twist. All items are handprinted in a Hampshire studio, and are vegan approved by PETA!
Trainmasters, won the parents choice , they offer a train packed event to keep the children busy.
Finkley Down Farm was highly commended in the Business of the Year category.
Maddy who launched My VIP Card in December 2017 after suffering with postnatal anxiety after the birth of son had this to say “ The whole reason I set up My VIP Card was to help people to shop local, and this fantastic community of small Hampshire businesses was born, it only felt right to reward those businesses for the work they do, some of them are too small for other Hampshire business awards and I wanted something where all level of business could be celebrated, And what an amazing night it was!”
