The Project Workshops Summer Exhibition is this weekend, 11th and 12th May, between 10am and 5pm.
New resident artists Hannah Willow (beautiful paintings and jewellery), and Philip Homes work along with another recent newcomer Katy Rundle (who makes vibrant fabric sewn animal portraits and landscapes.)
World renowned sculptor Amy Goodman has been a resident at Project Workshops for 11 years and has recently finished sculpting a jump ready, life-size ‘Airborne Soldier’, another exciting Memorial which will be unveiled in Princes Gardens in Aldershot on 6th July.

Amy Goodman is a Sculptor and Portrait Artist who loves to sculpt with clay for bronze, increasingly on a larger scale and in the Public realm. She loves to inject life and movement into her subject matter be it Animalia or the human form.
She has previously sculpted ‘The Romsey War Horse & Trooper’, ‘The Slayer of Belleros’ (Amy’s depiction of Pegasus & Bellerophon for the 16 Air Assault Brigade’s HQ in Colchester, ‘The Arborfield Horses’ (to be unveiled later this year), and this year will be creating a second eight foot bronze ‘Angel’ for Winchester University.
Amy is currently completing the ‘Airborne Soldier’, a life-size bronze Memorial which will recognise the association of Aldershot Town and the Airborne Forces between 1950-2000. The statue will be unveiled on Airborne Forces day (6th July), at Princes Gardens in Aldershot.
He is modelled on Sergeant Kilbride a former Para based at Merville Barracks in Colchester. He is six foot high and has quite a presence about him. She wanted to capture that intensity and adrenalin just before he jumps out of a plane with full kit into a war zone.
Up to 1,000 serving and former Paras will take part in the parade on the day of the unveiling, led by the Regimental band and mascot, all four colours, and the Airborne riders on motorcycles bringing up the rear. It will be a big day for Aldershot.
Amy states, “It is such an honour to be commissioned to sculpt this piece, but until the statue is safely installed and has been well received by the Paras I won’t be able to relax!”
