Easter at St Marys in Andover

At St Mary’s we’re really looking forward to Easter this year! We know that it will be odd for many of us due to the restrictions, but we are still able to connect and celebrate Easter both in-person and online. Over the Easter week we a running lots of different things you can join in with, whether your younger, older, families or singles.

From Monday to Thursday (29 th -31 st March, 6-7pm) we’ll be opening up St Mary’s Church building for private prayer. This is a space to come reflect and pray. From 6:30pm we’ll be leading evening prayer.

On Good Friday (2 nd April) morning we’ve got an online craft workshop for the whole family. Log on with your pens, scrap paper and glitter and have some fun together while exploring the Easter Story. To join us go to the St Mary’s YouTube channel (@Stmaryschurchandover), the workshop’s available from 10:30am. The perfect way to get in the mood for the chocolate eggs to come! In the afternoon of Good Friday (1-3pm) there’s another opportunity for private prayer. Come along, spend some time in God’s presence and reflect on the story of Easter or on this last year.

On Easter Sunday (4 th April) we’ve got so much happening. At 8:30am we’ve a traditional, reflective communion in the Church building. At 10:30am, we’re inviting everyone to our All- Age Easter Celebration. We’ll have kids packs, games, worship, prayer and encouraging message, we’d love to see you there! We’re also meeting online at 10:30am on our YouTube page to celebrate Easter, so you can join us from home.

We’ve all this and more happening over the Easter Week and we’d love to see you whether in-person or online. We’re working hard to make sure our services are safe and consistent with current regulations, so please do book and bring a mask if you’d like to join us in person. Even though Easter will be different this year, we’re looking forward to celebrating it with Andover.
