The popular Andover Festival of Motoring is back this year thanks to funding from BP Rolls.
The event which is in its fifth year brings together local motoring enthusiasts and attracts thousands of visitors into the town centre each year.
Over 100 impressive and unusual vehicles lined the High Street at the 2017 Festival from classic MG’s and Austin’s to Triumph Motorbikes, modified Hot Rods and Muscle Cars.
The Worshipful Mayor, Councillor Carl Borg-Neal was in attendance and had the difficult task of choosing the winners of the six categories and overall Best in Show, modified Hot Rods and Muscle Cars.
Gemma Thompson, Andover’s Town Centre Manager said, “We are absolutely thrilled with the grant from the St Mary’s Ward Councillors and the sponsorship from BP Rolls Group.
We hope this year’s Festival will be the biggest yet and are now busy taking registrations from car owners from all over the region”.
Louise Ellison of BP Rolls added, “We are really pleased to sponsor the 2018 Festival of Motoring. We took part last year and it was a great day for Andover; something that Gemma and the Town Centre Partnership should be really proud of creating.
“As well as the impressive display of vehicles, it was fantastic seeing the high street crowded with people. As a local business in the motor trade for over 50 years, we wanted to support this free event as a way of giving something back to the community who have supported us throughout the years.”
Organised by the Andover Town Centre Partnership the Festival of Motoring will be taking place on Sunday 23rd September.
