Summer time at The Lights

This summer keep your children occupied with a wide range of fantastic workshops and activities at The Lights.

Whether your children love music, dancing, art, storytelling or drama there is something for them at The Lights this summer holiday. Workshops are running between 28 July and 23 August.

The ever popular play in a day is on Monday, 14 August from 10am – 3pm for ages 5-8 with Pirates! This swashbuckling workshop will include pirate drama games, pirate dances and lots of pirate fun rehearsing towards a short show for family and friends at the end of the day!

For children aged 7+ up to early teens who love art why not book them in for a Comic Art Masterclass run by Kev F Sutherland, who writes and draws for The Beano, Dr Who and Marvel Comics – NOW SOLD OUT.

There is much more, with Fairy Fever Dance Workshop and Follow the Yellow Brick Road Musical Theatre Workshop with tutor Lauren, Everyone Loves Elmer storytelling and crafts, ABC Movement workshop and Handa’s Surprise for 2-5 year olds on 23 August.

More still? Try the perfect workshop for cheeky monkeys, greedy giraffes and other mischievous animals – a fun interactive workshop with Amanda based on the charming picture book.

For an extra special treat after the children have gone back to school, The Lights has Saturday morning family theatre on 23 September at 10.30am with Animalphabet the Musical. This is an exciting new theatre production for families with colourful characters, catchy songs, puppetry and a funny storyline to entertain the whole family with music by Al and Sam of The Hoosiers. Suitable for ages 2+.
