Young People in Andover enjoy a day of Create and Share

On Wednesday 21 April young people of Andover gathered at the Augusta Park community hall in Andover to enjoy a morning of creativity with John from, The Artroom.

They spent the morning and planning their own designs which were then painted onto a flowerpot, the pots will be gifted to some older members of our community.

This event was made possible by a TVBC community grant which was supported by Cllr. Tasker, who came along to the event and said, “It was great to see amazing creativity in the room.”

John Ritchie who owns and runs The Artroom, in Andover said, “It was a pleasure to be involved in this project. Such fab work”

After all their creative hard work the young people the shared a pizza lunch together, which was provided by Nigel Male owner of, Nidge’s Artisan Pizza Kitchen. The Young people were given a menu by Nigel so that they could order their own, he also shared some pizza knowledge with them.

An Easter Egg was given to each young person to take home that was donated from Andover Food Bank.

Feedback from parents has been positive,

Debbie Bennet posted praise on her own Facebook page, saying, “My lad and his mate attended this morning where they painted some plant pots to create a spring gift for older members of the community. They enjoyed themselves, had pizza, and received an Easter egg each. All for free. So, a big thank you to Sarah at Unity and John at The Art Room for keeping them occupied this morning”
