David Mellor Family Jewellers have won the coveted Independent Fashion Jewellery Retailer of the Year award, hosted by Professional Jeweller in London.

The hosts reviewed independently-owned jewellery retailers with fewer than 10 stores, trading mainly in fashion and lifestyle brands priced under £1,000 an the Andover retailer proved a cut above the rest.

The Independent Fashion Jewellery Retailer of the Year Award saw five strong contenders compete neck and neck, but in the end there could only be one winner – David Mellor Family Jewellers in the Chantry Centre walked away with the trophy.

Event organisers say, “David Mellor Family Jewellers is the definition of a family business, with founder David still involved today, working to keep the business thriving alongside his wife, Christine, and their three children.

“Together the family runs jewellery stores in three locations, one of which David Mellor recently moved to a prime spot and expanded – a brave move in today’s market, but one that has truly paid off.”

The jewellery firm previously in Waterloo Court in Andover has also been praised for modernising, without losing its identity and offering a customer service that makes a variety of ages feel comfortable shopping in store.

Their new store has managed to build a relationship with millennial shoppers, making sure the business can withstand the trials of the High Street for years to come.

David, Christine and Amy Mellor have been supporting community events and initiatives for many years.  David started as a market trader in London and has had a jewellery firm in Hampshire since 1976.  David Mellor Family Jewellers also have stores in Eastleigh and Totton.
