Staff from Costa on Andover High Street reported a break-in at the old Marks and Spencer store this morning.
Police say concerned staff from the coffee shop called around 6am to report a smashed door and the potential of people being inside the former retail store on the upper High Street.
Reports were received at Andover Radio this morning that somebody may have been in the building. Local environmental campaigner Manuela Wahnon approached Andover Radio to ask for assistance in assessing the situation at the empty store.
A member of radio station staff investigated the premises while talking to Hampshire Police on the phone. Police then confirmed that they were aware of the situation and attended the scene earlier in the day.
No-one is thought to be inside the building.
