A new running club in Andover is making waves in the local fitness community by offering a welcoming and supportive environment for runners of all abilities.
Founded in August 2024 by Will Dorman, Willpower 2 Run has quickly grown from a small gathering to a thriving group of over 100 members in its dedicated WhatsApp community.

The club meets every Monday at 7pm at the Town Mills Car Park in Andover town centre, where runners take on a variety of 5km routes. Designed to be both a fitness initiative and a social experience, the group welcomes participants ranging from complete beginners to seasoned runners. Best of all, the sessions are completely free to join.
From its inaugural run on 19th August 2024, where just five runners attended, the club saw rapid growth, reaching 25 participants within weeks. Since then, Willpower 2 Run has maintained an impressive average of 20 runners per session, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and encouragement among members.

The club is an extension of Willpower Sports Rehabilitation & Conditioning, Dorman’s sports injury clinic based in Thruxton. By combining the running club with his expertise in sports rehabilitation, Dorman provides runners with valuable guidance on injury prevention and performance enhancement.
To accommodate varying conditions and times of year, Willpower 2 Run has a selection of predefined routes, including scenic options around Charlton and Anton Lakes and well-lit circuits through the town centre, ensuring safe and accessible running throughout all seasons.
Membership is open to adults due to road crossings along the routes. Those interested can join the club’s WhatsApp group for updates on sessions and route details. Participants are encouraged to confirm their attendance before each run via WhatsApp, helping organisers manage group sizes effectively.
Additionally, members can use Strava, a popular running app, to track their progress and share their achievements within the group.
For anyone looking to improve their fitness, meet new people, and enjoy the benefits of running in a supportive community, Willpower 2 Run offers an ideal opportunity. More information about the club, including details on how to join, can be found at www.willpower-src.co.uk/runningclub.
