Andover Women in Business (AWIB) members took part in a 5 week course offered to Hampshire’s women entrepreneurs by the Business School of the University of Winchester.

The WiDE (Women in Digital Enterprise) course was held in Basingstoke, Chandler’s Ford, Woking and – thanks to the support of Test Valley Borough Council’s Economic Development Officer, David Gleave, who provided the venue free of charge – in Andover.

Dozens of Hampshire women celebrated their “graduation” on the 7th June at the University including 12 AWIB members, two of whom made it to the final 6 chosen to deliver presentations .

They all had the opportunity to hear from the female “Dragons” – successful female entrepreneurs – who inspired everyone with their stories and advice.

The course was free to participants and sponsors including NatWest provided prizes.

President of AWIBC, Andrea Barry, said “This was a fantastic opportunity for business women, regardless of age or experience; I watched participants learn new ways of improving their businesses and profitability and grow in confidence.

“Many literally increased they sales and profit margins over the 5 weeks.

“It was wonderful to witness their success and growth from just 5 afternoons. The presenters and organisers were fantastic. All the presenters came from the real world of business – and importantly – successful businesses.
