Spiritual corner with Marie Ponting

We have the pleasure of introducing you to Marie Ponting, a writer for our spiritual corner. Marie is a deeply insightful and intuitive individual who has dedicated herself to helping others along their spiritual journeys.

Her passion for spiritual growth and her profound knowledge of various spiritual practices and teachings have led her to conduct workshops and events that inspire and empower individuals seeking to connect with their inner selves.

Through her work, Marie aims to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore their spiritual paths, connect with others, and ultimately find greater meaning and purpose in their lives. So, without further ado, let’s hear from Marie herself!

By Marie Ponting

“Beltane blessings, how did you celebrate? Beltane as well as symbolising mid spring is said to be a time when the veil thins between realms, similar to Samhain in October (Halloween)

So there are certain places I choose to avoid. Not because of bad energy but because everything is heightened. We have some wonderful spots of energy in town. 2 of my favourites are Ladies walk and the Monument in Harewood forest, at certain times both places can make the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Where are your spiritually special places in and around Andover?

I have just finished very intense training in Glastonbury. Which has been life changing – Soul healing. Difficult at times, emotionally challenging but very worth it. The last weekend was all about death, which I find a fascinating subject. After my fathers death 18 months ago I realised how people really struggle with this subject, my belief is that the soul does not die, the body is a vessel, a soul does not die, However even with my strong beliefs I was surprised as to how painful I found the grieving process, i still enjoy a feather falling in front of me as dad comes to say hi, or a song he and I enjoyed randomly being played on the radio. I remember a few days after his death one of his favourite songs played on the radio, it was such a random one, Applejack by Dolly Parton. Spirit messages from loved ones are a very heartwarming experience indeed.

Have you seen the abundance of dandelions, they’re absolutely beautiful and so so good for your digestion. I picked some, well I say picked, I dug them up as I ate the root too! They were very tasty, so I had a look at a few recipes. However, instead of over-thinking it I pan fried the lot – yum yum. Another firm favourite to forage in our house is nettles, one of my sons particularly enjoys a nettle risotto! What do you like to forage, and do you have any recipes you’d like to share, I’m very interested in what other people forage.”
