We want to introduce you to some of the amazing people around Andover that are giving up their time, using their skills and helping others.
Meet Lauren Trotman… she’s a volunteer at the Andover Isolation Help Group.
Unassuming Lauren is a hardworker. No matter what is thrown at her, this 19-year old displays a level maturity beyond her years and “just gets on with the job in hand”.
Her voluntary work at the Andover Isolation Help Group at the Queen Charlotte Inn displays some similarities to her usual paid job in a pharmacy distribution centre. “This is a lot more varied and there is a great team of people here who are not just really hardworking, but fun to work with too”, says the Vigo Road resident.
“I like to keep busy and I am glad that I can put some of my skills to go use”, she adds. “I am amazed at the generosity of people in Andover. There have been so many donations of food received here.”
The former Winton student is a British Super Bikes fan loves getting up to speed on motorcycles, especially pit bikes, MotoGP and watching Scott Redding when he’s riding at Thruxton Motorsport Centre.
Last week Lauren said, it was “one of the best days of my life” when she dropped off ‘thank you’ Easter eggs to the post-workout lyrca-clad guys at the Andover Fire Station. We wonder why.
