#LockdownLegend coronavirus

We want to introduce you to some of the amazing people around Andover that are giving up their time, using their skills and helping others.

Meet Terry Gosden… he’s a volunteer at Unity.

When not volunteering Terry is a professional golfer. He is currently using his time off the golf course to help out at Unity’s Coronavirus Helpline (0330 400 4116).

Proud of being almost 60 years old, this resident of Lillywhite Crescent is doing his bit to help in the community.

Terry has experience of the valuable work of the NHS with one of his children working as a midwife.

His main volunteering role is walking his mate Alfie (pictured above), who he walks every weekday for a lady who is unable to leave her house because of medical conditions.

Christianne Ireland from the Helpline says, “These guys have struck up a most beautiful relationship. Terry is always cheerful and positive.

Terry concludes, “When I pick him up each morning, he bolts out of the door and nearly knocks me over with excitement”.

Local charity Unity administer the Coronavirus Helpline for the Test Valley. This service is for people with no other form of support. Their phone number is 0330 400 4116.

Unity can be contacted through their Facebook page or by calling 0330 400 4116
