In Andover you’re on the doorstep of the UK’s largest gardening event of its kind.
All the features that have been present over the last 20years will be there, most importantly, over 100 varieties of seed potato with more than 20 of them also available as organic seed. The list will be updated when it is firmer on Charlton Park Garden Centre’s website (last year’s is there to give yiou some idea of the range we expect).
You don’t have to buy a large bag of seed potatoes, you can choose as little as 1 tuber from 17p each or £1.50 for 10 (those were the prices for the last 3 years, they might change a bit).
Plus there’s loads more seeds, sets, bulbs, plants and local produce. Plenty of free advice and a free coloured potato to every child with activities to keep them occupied if they don’t find potatoes very interesting!
The location, Testbourne Community School, Micheldever Road, Whitchurch RG28 7JF, is well signposted from the A34 north and south of Whitchurch.
Entry for adults is £2, children free
