Andover Armed Forces Day returns for 2023
June 24 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Free
Armed Forces Day is set to return to Vigo Park this year on Saturday 24 June from 12-5pm, and it’s set to be real showstopper!
The awe inspiring Apache helicopter is set to be the highlight of the day, provided by the Army Air Corps based at Middle Wallop. The combat chopper will appear alongside a Gazelle and other military vehicles, both modern and historical.
Andover Armed Forces Day Committee Chairman Richard Rowles said, “I am sure people will agree that we are privileged to have one of the world’s most advanced pieces of military technology come to our event. The presence of a multi-million pound flying gunship needs a lot of planning, and we are already working with the army, police and local councils to ensure its safe and visually impressive arrival”.
The event, which celebrates our Armed Forces past, present and future will also have exhibitions, reenactments and family friendly activities. These will include – bridge building by the Royal Engineers, bushcraft activities and medal presentations for former forces personnel by the Mayor and deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire.
Refreshments, fairground rides and a bar will all be on site, as well as live music from local artists.
A number of pitches remain for businesses wishing to exhibit at this event. Sponsors are actively being sought. If you would like to exhibit at, or sponsor this event, please contact Events Chairman, richard@andoverarmedforcesday.org.uk or 01264 300030.
