Andover Festival of Motoring Revs up for its Return

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the team behind Andover’s very own Festival of Motoring are thrilled to announce its triumphant return for 2022.

On 28th August 2022, Andover High Street will once again be turned into a display of some 300 of the most iconic vehicles from the last century, including automotive stars from films and TV shows such as Batman, Noddy and The Flintstones. There will also be a variety of food vendors, music from local radio station Love Andover, prizes for display cars, charity bucket collections and a raffle with a whole host of goodies to be won on the day.

This year the event is supporting local charity Koala Community Hub. Based in Andover, the charity supports autistic/neurodivergent people and their families, by creating a safe and consistent space for support groups, training and events. Sensory-friendly and demand-free, autistic people are made to feel safe and able to interact with opportunities that they may not normally be able to.

Tori Rist, co-founder of the charity More Education which runs Koala, said “it is a real honour to be chosen as Andover Festival of Motoring’s charity this year – not only because of the recognition this shows for our hub but also for the fact that cars have been a special interest of mine since I was 9! We’re really looking forward to attending the event and having the chance to meet more families and adults that may benefit from our support.”

Sophie Greene, who’s heading up marketing for the event, said “it’s so exciting to be bringing the Andover Festival of Motoring back after such a difficult couple of years for us all. We’ve had a fantastic response from people keen to register their cars and we’ve already got a bit of everything coming along; from motorbikes to supercars, classic cars to modified cars, and just about everything else in between! We hope to put on a brilliant celebration of all things automotive for the people of Andover in return for their ever-growing support!”

Entry is free to the general public on the day, with the event officially open from 10am to 4pm. For those wishing to display their pride and joy a fee of £5 for bikes, £10 for cars and £15 for large vehicles applies, and entrants must register their attendance with the team ahead of the event.
