Code Playground
30th May 2018 @ 10:30 am - 5:30 pm

Code Playground is Barclay’s interactive workshop to help you and your kids get to grips with the basic of coding. Using Scratch, built by MIT, we’ll give your child the tools to create their own game!
Coding is the language that we use to talk to computers and tell them what to do. It drives the software in all devices, but you’ll find it outdoors too, including; under water cameras, nest box sensors and GPS tracking used to monitor animal migration patterns. Learning what makes tech tick could give you a head start in the world of work, but also help you understand how it can be used to benefit nature. In partnership with Barclays, this event is a fun and practical based session designed to introduce kids to the world of coding and how it can link into the world around them.
Minimum age: 8 years and over (Whilst there is no maximum age 13yrs old is suitable for the level of coding in this event.

Why is coding so important?
Coding is the language that we use to talk to computers and tell them what to do. It drives the software in every device, phone and camera – but you’ll find it in everyday household appliances too. Coding is part of the national curriculum too, and learning what makes tech tick could give your kids a head start in the world of work.
Give them a helping hand by bringing them along to a coding session with our Digital Eagles – experts who’ll guide your children as they take on fun challenges that introduce them to the basics of coding.
