Cycle Challenge for Open SIght Hampshire Charity

Peter Ross & Lee Goosey have set themselves the tough challenge to cycle 250 miles around the Hampshire borders to raise much needed funds to enable Open Sight Hampshire to continue Eye Health Education Presentations to Primary School Children across Hampshire.
Open Sight Hampshire Charity offeris a variety of services and support to people of all ages experiencing sight loss or who are visually impaired, ranging from Childrren and parents services, working age people social groups, pathaway to employment projects, indpendeant daily living services, equipment and information etc:
Eye Helath Education is important as statiscally, 1 in 4 children aged between 5 and 12 years old, suffer from an undiagnosed sight problem which may be detrimental to their ability to learn and affect their proformance at school.
There are 104,533 primary school children in Hampshire, and over the past year our Development Manager, Terry Smith, has visited 24 schools and spoken to 6,000 pupils. This coming year we would like to double that number and reach out to 12,000 at 48 schools.
Peter & Lee have set their target of covering 70 miles per day starting on 11th August and finishing on 14th August 2018 to raise the £6,000 needed to fund the Eye Health Education Presentations.
Their planned route is as follows:
Day 1, on 11th August: Eastleigh to Liphook
Day 2, on 12th August: Liphook to Highclere
Day 3, on 13th August: Highclere to Fordingbridge
Day 4, on 14th August: Fordingbridge to Eastleigh.
