Open farm Sunday event – Oaktrack Smallholding
10th June 2018 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Free
LEAF Open Farm Sunday, managed by LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming), is one of the farming industry’s biggest success stories. Since the first Open Farm Sunday in 2006, over 1000 farmers across the UK have opened their gates and welcomed people onto their farm for one Sunday each year. It is a fantastic opportunity for everyone, young and old, to discover at first hand what it means to be a farmer and the fabulous work they do producing our food and managing the countryside.
Come and join us on Open Farm Sunday when you can meet our animals, and learn about our livestock and life on the smallholding. There will be egg collecting, lambing and pig oiling for the children along with plenty of other farm and craft activities.
The farm shop will also be open offering fresh meat and preserves, as well as plants and free range eggs.
Cakes, cream teas, and other delicious homemade refreshments will be available in our pop up vintage tea room, as well as a BBQ using all our own produce.
Toilet and parking facilities are available and entry is free
About This Farm
Oaktrack is a smallholding where we breed Oxford, Sandy and Black pigs, pedigree Shetland sheep and a mixed flock of Lleyn crosses. We also buy in native breed calves locally (including Irish Moiled, Belted Galloways and Aberdeen Angus crosses) and have a small flock of laying hens.
