Today ( Thursday 22 July 2021) at 13:00 a funeral procession started at Andover ambulance station which said farewell to a local paramedic, Mr Derek Quarrier, he was much loved by all who knew and worked with him and is foundly described as, ” one of the biggest characters ” Derek sadly died a couple of weeks ago unexpectedly.
His unexpected passing has left a massive hole in the service and in the hearts and minds of his family, friends and colleagues.
Derek Quarrier’s started his final journey from Andover ambulance station at 1pm today and headed towards Charlton Park Crematorium, where the funeral service took place.
The ambulance service was supported by both fire and police on its route through Charlton. Derek Quarrier’s colleagues were honoured to be his pallbearers.
