The Guest Speaker for the official launch of the Test Valley Business Awards 2018 has now been announced as local businessman, and award-winning fly fisherman, Charles Jardine.

Charles Jardine has been fly fishing for many years; during that time, he has fished, written and painted around the world, winning a few awards along the way. He has also run several businesses.

Currently he is, very proudly, the director of the England Youth Fly Fishing Team; and working on his opus – Fishing 4 Schools. Directing operation with TCAF and taking the fabulous sport into urban areas and less privileged populations, where he sees fishing as a true opportunity for young people to learn and heal from, and a chance to enthuse a future generation as well as address mental health issues – an area where the calm of angling can play a significant role in helping.

Charles Jardine says of the Test Valley Business Awards “I’m honoured and delighted to be speaking at the launch of the 14th Test Valley Business Awards; I am utterly passionate about small, individual business.  I am also fanatical about individuality and diversity – the very things that I believe the Test Valley Business Awards extol – and I encourage all local businesses to attend the launch and, of course, to enter the Awards.”

The official launch will see business representatives from across the area come together celebrate doing business in Test Valley; to learn more about the Awards’ entry process; to network and not least to enjoy some lovely food from The Greyhound.

Attending the launch is free but places are limited and so must be booked in advance by visiting https://tvba2018launch.eventbrite.co.uk or www.tvbawards.org.uk

Now in its 14th year, the Test Valley Business Awards – run by a steering group of volunteers – has become a well-established platform to promote businesses excellence and especially to shine a light on the many new and small innovative businesses operating out of sight. It is a great way to enable smaller enterprises to gain the recognition and exposure to grow.
