Harmonise Car Event Raises Hundreds For Charity

A charity fundraising event organised by Harmonise Car Club members, Chris (who is a serving soldier) Will and James, was held at Wyke Down Pub and Restaurant, in Picket Piece on Saturday 31 July.

The charities benefitting were MIND and “Veterans In Action” which both deal with Mental Health issues.

Over 200 cars were on show including:

BMW who had an official stand with the brand new M3, M4 and X4 msport on display

Ford also had a display of Children’s Character cars (hi-tech cars).

The displays included Paw Patrol’s Marshall and Chase, Storm Troopers (Ford RS Storm) and Brian The Dog from Family Guy

The Jack Daniels logo was displayed on a Ford Focus RS

Also on display was a bright pink Mazda MX5( The Love Andover teams favourite). It was built by Daniel McKernan. It is a Japanese themed car with slanty wheels and took him 2 years to complete. In the past Daniel has also built a Mazda RX7 and a Nissan Skyline.

There were also lots of classic cars and bikes for people to look around and chat with the owners.

Trade and charity stalls included Club Awesome selling amongst other things Car rings and ribbons for charity.

Boundless Interiors is an eco shop in Whitchurch in Hampshire selling eco friendly furniture and soft furnishings amongst other things . It is run by Milly Upson who can be found on facebook@boundlessinteriorsuk

Jojobubbles is a company producing luxury skincare and bath products from natural materials such as clay and honey,  ideal for people with sensitive skin  . They want to protect our planet so all their packaging is recyclable. They also have an outlet in Brittany in France. Ups Creations are a family run business producing high quality handmade wood and resin items. They make tables from small coffee to family dining size, many household items  and each item is unique . Resin items include phone cases, chopping boards, ornaments, bookmarks to name but a few. You can go on to their website www.upscreations.co.uk to find out more of what they make.

Show and Shine were inviting visitors to the event  to vote for their favourite car exhibitor. The  worthy winner was a white Ford RS Storm featuring the Stormtroopers .Congratulations to the 3 show and shine winners 1st place Storm Trooper RS – Mark Hauxwell2nd place 370z Nismo – Elliott Haywood3rd place Evo 8 – Scott Thackray

Hosting and providing music for the event was David Harber and Kevin Ridgeon from Love Andover with team members Sarah, Ben, Carole and Brian supporting them in their now famous pink gazebo.

A magnificent raffle raising money for MIND and Veterans In Action was held throughout the day with lots of lovely prizes from many different sponsors.

The Harmonise Event team shared , ” It was a fantastic day and we are so proud that it went ahead and hope everyone enjoyed there day. We are very very proud to announce that we raised £1500 for charity which is a fantastic amount and all courtesy of the car community.”

Despite the forecast for heavy showers the weather was dry throughout making it a very pleasant family day out.

The next local car event that we are happy to be part of is the BrokenSoulz car club Family fun day taking place at Wyke Down on Sunday 22nd August from 12pm.
