Hampshire’s Highways teams worked through the night last week to keep the roads clear of fallen trees and debris during the recent storm.
Speaking on Friday morning (21st September) Councillor Rob Humby, Executive Member for Environment and Transport at Hampshire County Council, said “Our highways teams certainly had a busy night last night, and have worked hard to manage the impact of the storm on our roads so people could get to work, school and college as normal this morning.
“Emergency and specialist crews have removed trees and fallen branches from around 50 roads across Hampshire since yesterday evening, and remain out across the county today. Our tree crews work on blocked roads in priority order, clearing the main A roads of any fallen trees or branches first.”
