HIOWAA Ride4Life Hampshire planned for September cancelled

The first Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) mass Ride Out, Ride4Life Hampshire, has been cancelled due to safety concerns.

The mass Ride Out followed the success of the Charity’s popular Ride4Life Isle of Wight and was due to take place on Sunday 16th September, starting at the Air Ambulance Airbase in Thruxton.

A spokesperson for HIOWAA said “In light of a recent incident at a neighbouring Air Ambulance event, we felt it correct and proper to reassess the safety precautions of our proposed route.

“We have taken further advice from experts who have many years of experience in the field of motorcycle ride outs and we felt more time to assess the route would be necessary to ensure the safety of our riders. Safety is at the heart of what we do and we would rather take time and be certain, than risk anyone’s safety.

Your ongoing support is extremely important to us, and our team have started working on next year’s Ride Out. We are considering several different routes and we hope that everyone will join us then to raise funds for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
