Andover, prepare yourself for a day of music, food, and fun as the mighty Jerk Jam hits Vigo Park tomorrow, 31st August!
This free event promises to be a celebration for the whole family, bringing together national and local bands, DJs, food, and entertainment from noon till late.
The Jerk Jam is famous for its lively atmosphere, and this year’s event will be no different. Expect a vibrant live music stage featuring a diverse line-up of acts, from rock and blues to reggae and dancehall. Headlining the festival will be The Marley Experience, a fantastic Bob Marley tribute band, delivering iconic hits like “One Love” and “No Woman, No Cry” that will have everyone singing along. For those who love to dance, Skamageddon will bring their energetic ska beats to the stage, ensuring there’s plenty of skanking all day long.
Adding to the vibe, Andover’s own Badja, alongside his partner Smallz, will be hosting the MainStage. They’ll also be dropping beats , spinning a mix of R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop, Dancehall, Bashment, and Ragga. Expect music and banter from these seasoned pros that will keep the energy high and the crowd moving.
Foodies are in for a treat with a range of delicious offerings from the street kitchen, showcasing some of the best jerk chicken around, and a well-stocked bar to keep everyone refreshed. Please note, no outside food or drink (including alcohol) will be allowed on site, except for specific dietary requirements, and glass bottles are strictly prohibited.
The fun doesn’t stop with music and food. Jerk Jam also promises a funfair, circus performances, and a variety of activities to keep everyone entertained throughout the day. There’s something for all ages, making it the perfect day out for families.
And the party doesn’t stop there! After the festivities at Vigo Park, continue the fun until the early hours at the Spin Bar, where the good vibes will keep rolling. Don’t miss out on the after-party!
This year, Jerk Jam is proud to support Purple Oak Support, a local independent charity that has been providing services and support to people with disabilities and additional needs since 1964. The team from Purple Oak Support will be at the event, raising funds and awareness for their fantastic work. Look out for them on-site, and please give generously to support their efforts!
