Director of Care and Support Services

£35,000 – £40,000 per annum, Andover and District Mencap

Andover and District Mencap (ADM) est. 1964, is a provider of choice in Andover for people with a learning disability. We have a holistic approach to enabling choice and independence for people with a learning disability.

To drive and support our ambitious and exciting plans we are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced individual to lead our care and support services. The Director of Care and Support Services inspire and lead our teams to deliver our existing services, ensuring compliance with CQC and OFSTED standards. They will also play a vital role in ensuring our OFSTED registered respite provision is ready to meet the needs of children and families in Andover, whilst identifying and implementing new income streams through our delivery of care.

The successful candidate will:

Provide strategic direction, innovative and professional leadership across all of our care and support services.  Reporting to the CEO, and working closely with the Board and Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the development of and manage new models of support in line with the changing needs of adults and children with learning disabilities. You will ensure all services are delivered, monitored and evaluated in line with relevant requirements, with an excellent care planning process in place
and build on previous work to develop and embed a person-centred culture across our services.

The person we are looking for will have:

A degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or similar significant senior level experience in health and/or social care.

Experience of working within critical legal/policy frameworks, including The Care Act 2014 Vulnerable Adults legislation and the Health and Social Care Act 2008 Experience of developing links and partnerships with healthcare professionals and other organisations

Experience and understanding of Ofsted and CQC, and their associated regulated activities.
Knowledge of the latest thinking and best practice around support for people with learning disabilities and considerable business development experience, including tendering, service design and innovation.

Experience of delivering against challenging service targets, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and
strong people management, inspirational leadership and motivational skills.
