James’s Place is a unique day care centre for adults with disabilities located in the stunning setting of Penton Park, a grade II listed family home in North West Hampshire.  We offer opportunities to adults with disabilities three days a week (9am-4pm) in a welcoming, friendly and supportive environment.  There is much laughter, happiness and learning all underlined with a wonderful atmosphere.

We are seeking a Manager to help us to grow our business and support us in all day to day to aspects of managing a team.  With 35 adults attending our service, and a team of 8 contractors, motivating and managing people is a key part of this role. In addition, maintaining and growing our profile to continue to build our business into the future is a fundamental requirement of this position.   This role has never been advertised on the open market and is a rare opportunity to join our team at a senior level.

We are seeking an individual with extensive experience in business management coupled with experience of building a highly motivated team. This is a flexible role where a trusted relationship is fundamental to the position.   Ideally you will have a lively and bubbly personality and be able to demonstrate a background in business development, resource management and experience of organising rotas. You should be a self-starter and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

You may have previously worked in the disability sector, charity sector, you may have a background in education, childcare, or have an interest or awareness of disability.  You should be passionate about making a difference in society as this part of our business is a business of goodwill, including a Community Group that seeks charitable donations to help support its offering to the community.

Our flexible working approach means that this role requires the incumbent to work a minimum of 17 hours per week with flexibility to increase to 21 hours per week as required to fulfil the requirements of the role.

Salary: Hourly rate starting at £15 per hour with a structured bonus scheme based on business growth (equivalent to £27,000 annual salary pro rata) but will be dependant upon skills and experience.
