On Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th August, the Chantry Centre will be opening a trial indoor market in the current vacant unit next door to Tots City offering a range of different market stalls.
Owner of The Budget Busters, Clive Elliman, has been working to get interest for the plan to go ahead with local market traders in the hope of success for it to become a permanent fixture in Andover.
Clive Elliman, commented “This was an idea I had a few months ago and with shops closing in Andover. Within 24 hours of putting the news on social media I had 30 potential traders. We are really hoping the trial is successful so that we can then look into having it as a monthly event.”
There is still time for market traders to get involved. Stands are available for £50 plus VAT for the two days with each trader allocated a two metre by two metre space.
Steve Cotney, Centre Manager at the Chantry Centre, commented “We are delighted to be welcoming an indoor market into our retail mix at the end of August.
“It is a brilliant addition and nice to be able to offer something a little bit different to our loyal customers. We really hope this is a success, so that we can have it as a permanent fixture!”
