National Single Parent Day – March 21

Single Parents’ Day takes place each year on 21 March. This is a day set aside to honour and applaud the hard work lone parents do each and every day in raising their children. This is a day to show respect to every person who is parenting alone and who does a double parenting job. To all the mums and dads and guardians out there who are parenting on their own in many different circumstances, and to those who share parenting, celebrate your achievements today.

There are around 2 million single parents across the UK – and now more than ever we need to highlight the brilliant job they do juggling work and family life, often under great financial and emotional pressures. On Single Parents’ Day Gingerbread is showcasing the incredible achievements of single parents to bring much needed attention to the hard work and sacrifices they make for their families every day. You can keep up to date with all of their activities on Single Parents’ Day by following them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and searching #SingleParentsDay.

Their website offers advice and information for single parents. Membership is free. In fact, everything Gingerbread provides for single parent families is free of charge. You can join via this link here

HOW TO OBSERVE #NationalSingleParentDay
