Black Friday (29th November 2019) shoppers up and down the country were fighting for all the deals online and in the High Street.
A local independent shop in Andover took a different approach. Mooch on Bridge Street decided instead to slash prices for the sake of slashing prices that they would donate 5% of their takings for that day to the Andover foodbank
Today George Roberts owner of Mooch presented Jenny from the foodbank a £100 cheque and a hamper of food.
George told Andover Radio “I’m delighted to present this cheque to Jenny, we felt that instead of slashing our prices that we would donate 5% of our takings to the Food bank. It was really brilliant that our customer’s came in and helped making a difference in the community”
Operating from their warehouse in Alexandria road, the Andover foodbank was started in March 2006 to provide emergency food boxes to people in crisis in and around Andover.
