National Swimming Success for Rookwood School

Sunday 21st January saw Xen Medland, Year 7, and Kyrill Kennet, Year 9, travel to the London Aquatics Centre in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to represent London West at the Independent Schools Association (ISA) National Finals.

Following their success at the London West Regional Swimming Gala in November, both boys have been busy training for this prestigious national event.

Xen and Kyrill both swam outstandingly, taking home a number of gold, silver and bronze medals. Xen received a medal in all of his events and he took the gold in the freestyle relay, silver in the medley relay and bronze in the individual 50m butterfly.

Kyrill was awarded a gold medal in the freestyle relay, a silver medal in the medley relay and he came 4th place in the individual 100m breaststroke.

Miss Brown, Head of PE, said “A huge congratulations to Xen and Kyrill for their amazing performance on Sunday, we are very proud of you both. You’ve worked so hard and all your training really paid off.”
