With a passion to help people a local Andover women has taking the stride to open up her own counselling service hub.
Nicky Bates, who has been in the caring industry as a nurse for 20 years, recently founded TLC Counselling Hub to offer help and support for people with mental health issues.
Caring is at the heart of Nicky and she volunteers a lot of her time for good causes, she has recently completed 18 months volunteering for Andover Mind and she still volunteers at the Olive Branch in Winchester.
Based in central Andover, Nicky offers a non-judgemental approach built on the pillars of Gestalt and Humanistic theory. What this means is that she works creatively with what is happening for you right now. Working in the here and now she offers a calm relaxing environment. It is your time and space, it is about you and for you to discuss whatever is concerning you at this moment in time.
Nicky told Andover Radio “The Hub is designed to make you feel safe and creative with your feelings, sometimes it is hard to just talk so my methods help unlock those feelings“
