With your help, Andover Carnival has been able to make a very big difference to two very small, but indispensable Andover based charities.

Andover Child Contact Centre and Andover Fibromyalgia & ME Chatterbook Group attended the Andover Carnival AGM at the White Hart Hotel where the committee presented them each with a cheque for £2,000. Councillor Chris Lynn was delighted to receive his cheque on behalf of the Andover Child Contact Centre and explained how the money would help to keep this vital resource open.

Andover Child Contact Centre is a neutral place where children of separated families can enjoy contact with their non-resident parents and sometimes other family members, in a comfortable and safe environment. It is run entirely by CRB checked volunteers who are specially trained for the role.

Emma Jefferies, Chair of the Andover Fibromyalgia and ME Chatterbook Group thanked the committee.

We are extremely grateful to everyone involved in the Andover Carnival and we are ‘over the moon’ with this amazing donation which we enable us to do so much to help our members.

Andover Fibromyalgia & ME Chatterbook Group encourages people living with this often painful and debilitating condition from our area to chat via their website forum and they have the opportunity to attend regular meetings (if they are able) so members can support each other and their families.

Andover Carnival Committee are now asking local charities who wish to be considered for adoption as the Andover Carnival Charity for 2014 to submit their requests. As in previous years, when deciding which Charity to adopt as our chosen Charity the committee will always ensure they have a Branch or Network within Andover and the surrounding areas and benefit local people.
