Andover Armed Forces Day: Frederick Charles Abraham

This Saturdays Andover armed forces day is shaping up to be a fun filled family day. Leading up to the event at Vigo Park, we will be highlighting what you shall be expecting on the day. The event starts at 10am until 6pm.

We celebrate our armed forces past, present and future and we are delighted to welcome Chelsea Pensioner Frederick Charles Abraham to this years Andover Armed Forces Day.

Frederick enlisted at Wellington on 12th November 1956 as a national serviceman and went on to serve for 22 years in the REME. His service was equally split between postings in the UK and Germany with tours of Libya, based at Tripoli and Cyrenaica, from 31st July 1960 until 26th September 1962 and then later to Malaya from 17th January 1966 to 7th May 1968. He also had a 6 month tour of Northern Ireland from 23rd May 1975 to 29th November 1975. Frederick’s final posting was to 70 aircraft workshops REME at Middle Wallop. He was discharged on 11th November 1978 having been promoted to rank of Corporal.
