After almost succumbing to the strong winds on Monday night, the Christmas Tree in the High Street was put back upright by the team at TVBC yesterday.

Councillor David Drew, commenting on the Andover Town website on Tuesday 24th, said: “I have just had confirmation from Simon Ellis, Head of Estates and Economic Development, that the Christmas Tree by the Guildhall is up again and secured with the lights reconnected.

Town Council Chairman Geoff McBride has been with Test Valley staff this morning to ensure that all necessary safety action was taken and is delighted that the Tree is now OK. Geoff went on to say, ‘The alternative was to have the tree taken down and I’m very pleased that Test Valley have been able to make it secure again. A big thank you to the team’.

Geoff McBride, Chairman of Andover Town Council, added “A big thank you to our Councillor David Drew and the TVBC team for fixing the tree in rapid succession.
