  • Tony Hooke spoke against the amusement arcade on the basis that noone will come away with
pockets full of money and will only create misery for those who become addicted to these machines.
He asked the councillors to ignore the advise of the officers and find some moral courage.
Everything was going well in the debate until Paul Jackson, head of planning, interjected. He effectively told the elected councillors how to vote.So rather than listen to the 36 written objections and the 3 speakers,9 of the empty headed councillors did what they were told. What is the point of having councillors when the system is so clearly run by the officers? A big Thank you to the councillors who stood up and said no but shame on the rest of you, particularly councillor Phil North who clearly does not understand the needs of this town.
