Businesses from Andover are being given the chance to wish their customers a ‘Merry Christmas’ for free on the town’s local radio station.
95.9FM Andover Radio is inviting businesses to record and send their festive greetings to the radio station, where they will be broadcast for free until Boxing Day.
“This is a great opportunity for business to send customers past, present and future messages of goodwill“, says radio station founder David Harber. “Connectivity with customers is essential at this time of year, especially when we want to encourage people to buy using local companies, rather than just using a keyboard“.
Business owners can arrange to come to the radio station’s high street studios (above Toni and Guy) to record their message. They will be recorded and produced with twinkly festive music and sound effects. To record your message, use your mobile phone's 'Voice Recorder', then using the 'share' button, send it to firstname.lastname@example.org, or via Facebook to @andoverradio.
Andover Radio’s Ben Tuffin recommends a simple message that reads out loud to no more than 15 seconds, “I think businesses should say something like ‘Hi this is John Smith from Company X on Such-A-Such Road in Andover. We want to take this opportunity to wish all our customers past, present and future a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year’.
“As with all advertising, the more creatively your message is written, the more it will be noticed”.
If businesses wish to come to the radio station studios to record messages, it’s advisable to book a time slot in advance by calling 01264 883100 or emailing Angela or Sarah here.
