Police have released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to following a number of suspicious incidents across the north of Hampshire.

Officers have been made aware of a scam where people enter banks, building societies or pubs and ask to exchange bank notes for different denominations. They then try and confuse the employee and often end up leaving with more money than they went in with.

In the most recent incident, two men entered Newbury Building Society in Whitchurch and tried the same scam. This happened shortly before

PC Richard Baldwin said: “Please be aware of this scam, especially if you work in a local shop, bank or other business, and share this information.

“If you recognise these men, please contact police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Baldwin at Whitchurch Police Station on 101 or call the charity Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
