Police in Andover are appealing for information and witnesses to a burglary at a house in Charnwood Close in Andover last weekend.

A 61-year-old disabled woman was at her home watching television on Saturday, August 31. She recalls watching TV until about 11pm and then the next thing she remembers is lying on the floor in her hallway.

She had sustained several injuries to her arms and a broken finger.

It appears that the front door to her home had been forced open and several items stolen – a black Nintendo DS with a white case, a quantity of cash from her purse, a Fellows laminator and a cooked chicken from the fridge.

PC Ben Lee said: “This is a strange incident and due to the victim’s ill health, we are still trying to piece together what may have happened. The items stolen are somewhat unusual as well.”

Do you know anything about this incident? Have you heard anyone talking about it locally?

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Lee at Andover Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
