Andover Events Local News News

Double the spooky fun to be had in Andover Town Centre for the Halloween weekend!

There are lots of spooky events coming up in Andover this Halloween weekend. Here are 2 brilliant ones that are happening in the town centre.

Halloween Hunt – Saturday 29th October

Halloween is coming – we’re looking forward to creating some spooktacular events for you in Andover. Following the successes of multiple family-focused initiatives, including last year’s Halloween Trail and this year’s Easter Trail, Test Valley Borough Council and InAndover are joining forces once again to deliver some Halloween fun in Andover.

Entry forms will be available on the day from 11am – 3pm from the InAndover gazebo in the time ring or within the Chantry Centre. Look for the Halloween Banners.

As well as the ghostly goings on around the town, there will also be live musicians and entertainment in the time ‘warp’ ring.

Many local businesses are taking part in the trail and each will display a spooky sticker in their window for families to find!

There will be sweet prizes given out to everyone who completes the trail.

Event Coordinator Shelley Coburn of InAndover from Andover BID says

“Halloween is a great time for families and communities to come together. We are very happy to be creating free, fun events and occurrences for families in Andover and collaborating with other local organisations, to share in the creation of ‘spell binding experience’ that makes up such a fantastic time of year.  Town Centre Businesses are excited about getting involved in Halloween Fancy Dress and giving out sweet treats too at one or both of these events too!!”

Trick or Treat, Night Market and Disco – Monday 31st October

InAndover are really happy to be working alongside Andover Community Events to create this new free event for the Town Centre.  Creating a safe area for families to come and trick or treat in and around the ‘Menacing’ Night Market and many participating businesses.

You can bring your pre carved pumpkins and pass them to the organisers for judging whilst they build a Pumpkin Pile of Peril to light up the town.

There will be prizes given for the creepiest costumes, weirdest witches.

To finish the night, the event will feature Andover Radio DJ Chris Burford putting on the Devilish Disco, illuminating the night with its terrifying tunes and lightshow of terror allowing all those young demons to dance off some sugar.

Kevin Rush from Andover Community Events said: “We are so excited to be bringing this event to the town centre and can’t wait to see all the little monsters roaming the streets.

“It’s the first time for this event to be taking place but we hope it will become a regular annual gathering. We are also delighted to be collaborating with InAndover and Andover Radio in bringing this event to life for the town.  I really hope people will join us and we really look forward to seeing you all there.”

There will obviously be lots of other events and activities taking place over the Half Term holidays in the lead up to Halloween and we will keep you posted on all activities that are on offer within the town centre, as usual on the InAndover website:  www.inandover.co.uk/events and you can also be kept up to date on their Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/INANDOVERUK
