Festive Christmas Celebrations in Andover this weekend.

Another weekend of fun events to enjoy , (11- 12 December) jam packed with festive celebrations to enjoy here in Andover.

Santa will be travelling around Andover in his sleigh on December 10, 11, 12, 16, 17 and 19. And this year, lifting of restrictions means the team are able to collect on the nights and have chosen to support the Countess of Brecknock Hospice. On Saturday the 11th December there is a seasonal treat as the Army Medical Services Band perform in the Museum’s Hayward Hall. They invite us to enjoy an evening of top notch entertainment, guaranteed to get you in the Christmas spirit. Festive refreshments will be also available to enjoy during the show. Saturday 11th December will see the return of the Chantry Centre indoor market from 10am to 5pm, nestled next door to Santa and his elves in the grotto. Filled with a host of goodies from local traders, including Christmas cupcakes swirled with scrumptious buttercream, delectable preserves – perfect for a post-turkey cheese board, stunning wooden crafts, products to pamper, beautiful handbags and gorgeous children’s clothes.

Andover High Street will be jam-packed this Sunday 12 December with the return of the spectacular Cirque Winter Wonderland, children’s fairground attractions, mulled wine and performers in the time ring from 11am to 4pm. Watch the festive stilt walkers and jugglers in action and let little ones soar on the mini hot air balloon ride, while enjoying seasonal songs from talented local singers. There will also be gifts for sale in the garden area in the Chantry Centre – great for grabbing a stocking filler or two.

Test Valley Borough Council, councillor Phil North, said: “We’ve got different events each weekend in the run up to Christmas, including pop-up markets in the Chantry Centre, markets in the High Street, the grotto, children’s crafts and circus performers. With lots to see and do over the next couple weeks, pop down and stock up on some lovely gifts and soak up the festive spirit.”
