Police have named a Portsmouth man as the victim of the fatal road accident at Grateley near Andover at the weekend.

Twenty-two-year-old Tibor Darazs – originally from Hungary and living in Milton – died in a road accident in Grateley near Andover at the weekend.

The white Mercedes sprinter van he was driving was in collision with a Mercedes car just after 2pm on Saturday. He was taken to Salisbury district hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The Mercedes driver – a 44-year-old woman – suffered minor injuries.

A Hampshire Police spokesman said: “We are continuing our appeal for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision or either vehicle driving prior to it.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Lyndon Barrett at the Whitchurch Roads Policing unit, quoting Operation Taupe, on 101.
