We are hearing a report of an incident at the Chantry Centre car park. Police have cordoned off the area.

Update – 17:55
The road leading to and from the Chantry Centre has been blocked off and pedestrians are also being stopped.
Reports are that the Police are trying to talk down a man from the roof.
Update – 18:05
Cars are now being released from Waterloo Court car park.
A Police negotiator is expected shortly to try and talk the man down who is currently sat on the roof edge.
Update – 19:00
The area is now clear and back to normal.
Hampshire Constabulary said “We were called just after 5pm today (Wednesday) to concerns for the welfare of an 18-year-old man at the top of the car park. The situation was resolved safely by 7pm.”
“No one was injured. The man left the car park with a relative and Police. No criminal offences were committed. Thanks for the public for their understanding.”
