Local campaigner Manuela Wahnon is to meet up with Lord Marlesford in the New Year to discuss the issue of littering and the “Littering from Vehicles Bill”.

The Conservative peer is looking to introduce the bill that would make the owner of a vehicle responsible for any rubbish thrown from it and the recipient of any civil penalty.

At present there are penalties for people who throw rubbish from a vehicle however it is often very difficult for the Police to prove who did it when there are multiple people involved.

The idea for Manuela to contact Lord Marlesford came from TVBC officer Dan Smyth, who will also be briefing the local campaigner before the meeting.

The Attitude of Gratitude campaigner almost got a chance to meet up with Lord Marlesford at the Keep Britain Tidy Awards recently, however due to other engagements this had to be postponed until after Christmas.

Find out more about Manuela’s campaign at the Attitude of Gratitude website.
