A Fond Farewell to Mrs Chivers from Winton Academy

Winton Community Academy have given thanks and bid a fond farewell to Mrs Chivers earlier this month. Mrs Chivers was Head of Student Welfare at Winton Community Academy and has been working at the school for the last 9 years . Her role was to look after the wellbeing of Winton Academy school students .

One of the tasks that Mrs Chivers took on each year during her time at the school was organising , The Chivers’ cake challenge, this was to support and raise funds for Macmillan Cancer. Over the past 9 years this has involved the students and staff being set a range of challenges, including sponges being thrown, legs being waxed, head shaves and a bush tucker challenge This year it involved students and staff taking part in a task of buying and eating cake. The school raised £400 in total for Macmillan Cancer Support this year.

The messages parents of Winton students shared giving thanks for the support that she had shown towards their children over the years shows that she performed her role well and made a difference to many students over her years working at Winton Community Academy.

Lisa Newbury said, “Wishing you lots of luck in your new venture. Can’t thank you enough for all the support you gave us when we needed it”

Naomi Hills said, “Good luck with your next challenge. Thank you so much for all you did for us a family and your support when we needed it most.”

Diane White said, “Such a lovely lady. Thank you for everything you did for my daughter when her world was falling apart. You are going to missed.”

This message from Ex Student Aston Yates sums up the difference she made to many students experience of school life “Good luck Mrs! Thank you for everything you did for me, would not of made it through secondary school if it wasn’t for you”

What’s next for Mrs Chivers we hear you ask ?

Sally Chivers future plans are to turn her cake business ,Sally the Cake Fairy into a full time venture. Sally the cake fairy is based in Charlton . Her colleagues from Winton Community Academy say, “We wish her well as she launches her amazing cake business, You will be greatly missed.”
