ANDOVER: Business as usual

Andover BID Business as usual coronavirus

It’s business as usual in Andover after yesterday’s announcement that the Leisure Centre was evacuated.

This was a cautious measure following reports of the brief attendance by someone who later tested positive for the coronavirus.

Official advice remains the same – be sensible, wash your hands and do not panic.

Schools in Andover have also shared the same advice today: only if you visited Andover Leisure Centre at the weekend AND have the symptoms of coronavirus should you stay away from other people, work or school.

Symptoms are shortness of breath, a temperature and coughing.

Steve Godwin, the manager of Andover BID which represents businesses in our high street area says there is no need to panic, “It’s business as usual in our town centre.

“Life goes on doesn’t it?  I would suggest people take official government advice if they have any concerns about their health.

“And just take normal procedures if you are ill in any way.

“Life goes on here in Andover town centre.

With a wry smile on his face, the BID manager added, “There’s really no need to go panic buying, there’s no need to stock pile, but if people are going to panic buy and be silly about things, then please use one of our wonderful local independent traders, there are plenty of them here in Andover”

“If you are going to panic buy, let’s make sure our local traders’ benefit!”
