Police investigate after fake £50 notes used in Stockbridge

Hampshire Police are investigating after three businesses on Stockbridge High Street were targeted by two men using fake £50 notes to purchase low value items between 3:15pm and 4:00pm yesterday (Wednesday 27th June).

Both men are both described as:

  • white in their 20
  • wearing blue/grey shorts, t.shirts, baseball caps and trainers.

It is believed that they left the High Street in a white VW Golf.

A Police spokesperson said “Please ensure notes are checked when completing transactions. If you are unsure, politely refuse to serve them and give directions to the nearest Post Office whereby the notes can be changed for them.
