Red Nose Day arrived and this year it never felt more important to have some fun and raise money to support people living incredibly tough lives. Red Nose Day donations help tackle important issues including homelessness, hunger, domestic abuse and mental health, all of which have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Here is some of the Red Nose Day fun that has been enjoyed in Andover this year.
The staff at Finkley Down Farm Nursery say, “Thank you to all of the children who dressed up in RED for Red Nose Day and to those who kindly donated money towards a great cause”

Pupils and staff enjoyed a superhero themed day. Here are some photos for red nose day from years R, 1 and 2 enjoying the fun.
Winton Community Academy raised £630.35. They encouraged their students to wear red for the day. They say, “Thank you everyone for donating this year and we’re proud of our students supporting Red Nose Day!“
To mark Comic Relief 2021, Rookwood School students from ages 4 to 16 were challenged to take part throughout the week in a whole school egg and spoon challenge.
Students were asked to bring something red whilst carrying an egg and spoon for at least 5 laps of the sports hall or 500 metres outside to try and collectively hit 100km!
Amazingly students have walked more than 150km with their egg and spoons and have raised £275 for Comic Relief whilst doing it.
Head of PE Leigh Mills said “The challenge of completing 100km as a whole school was as much about students having to contribute as individuals but also working together as a collective. To see all of our students from Reception class to Year 11, taking part in a challenge to raise money for those in need was an amazing sight.
At Rookwood we have an ethos where we are one ‘Rookwood Family’ and I believe that was embodied in the whole school effort this week. Each and every student should be proud of their efforts as we travelled a long way past the 100km mark together. A huge well done to our students”.
Throughout Andover schools our children’s dinnertime were also Red nose day themed.

The award for capturing the spirit of fun for Comic Relief went to the dinner staff at Endeavour Primary School in Andover.
