Local News Poet's Corner

Space – Andover’s final frontier?

As part of the Chapels Art Studios Space programme, we are seeking poets from all corners of Andover to put into words their thoughts and feelings for sending the capsule up into space.

The themes for the poems are:

  • Connection
  • Hope
  • Possibility
  • My life on Earth
  • There’s a bigger picture out there.

The poems will be broadcast on Andover Radio up to the day of the launch.

This follows on from the space theme of this year as it was 50 years ago this year that Neil Armstong and Buzz Aldridge were the first men to land on the moon. This is Chapels Arts Studios way, in conjunction with Upstart Theatre and Andover Radio to celebrate this fantastic achievement. Something that has never been repeated to date.

To submit your poetry for this event please click here or drop off/post to the Andover Radio Studios marked FAO Daniel Hooks. Poems to be submitted by 25th November, to ensure inclusion for the proposed launch date of 1st December.
